Adventures In Port Hope

This morning Neal and I were looking for something to do or somewhere to go.  We looked in the Ontario travel booklet and found Port Hope.  It was about an hour and a half away from Toronto (if there are no problems on the highway).  It was smooth sailing all the way there.

On the way to the beach we found a firefighter's museum.  The fellow who volunteered there was very nice.  We walked around and saw all of the old firefighting gear and some of  the more recent stuff.  They had really old trucks, uniforms and gear.  It was really interesting.

The beach was a little messed up because they are dredging the water but I'm sure once they are done it will look very nice.  The water was as calm as glass.

Then we strolled into town.  It seems that most of the boutique shops were closed since it was Sunday.  One would think they would be open for the tourists.  We sat at Queen's Bakery and had some carrot cake and then drove home.
