The Big 50
Sorry that it's been so long since my last post, but life gets busy. I wanted to share with everyone my birthday party. I recently turned the BIG 50. You know when you're a kid and you hear that someone is 50 you think oh man that person is really old. Well, now that I am 50 it's not that old at all.
I still love to go on a good adventure, I love to travel to new places and meet new people. I can strike up a conversation with someone out of the blue and be friends with them for life. Just ask pretty much all of our table mates from each cruise we’ve been on. What really is an age? It’s only a number. If you feel young then you are young. I’m still able to zip-line across the cruise ship (with a little pep rally egged on by Neal and a few hundred strangers on the ship, some of which actually came up to me all week to say how brave I was to try the zip-line) trust me I was not brave at all. I was ready to chicken out at the last second. I love to paddleboard and kayak and if the situation should arise, I’m still willing and able to jump out of the car to assist someone who needs first aid by the side of the road (something that Neal had to get use to). When I’m no longer able to do those things, then maybe I’d consider myself to be old, but not just yet.
Here are some photos from the party:
I'm really proud of this cake. I had asked the bakery to make me a cake like this, but they lacked the vision to work outside of the box. So I told them to make me a cake with blue icing and the writing and I would do the rest. Never mess with the birthday girl and her vision of the beach.
Here is one of the table decorations. If you have never been to a Party Packagers store you should go. Holy cow it was overwhelming with all of the decorating choices. We were there for over an hour.
So my husband didn't want me to make all of the food for this party, but I still had to make some because any party needs my personal touch. I made cannelloni, ice cream cone cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries (because what party of mine would be without chocolate covered strawberries).
I had a great birthday party and a wonderful birthday.
