Happy Family Day - The Auto Show

In the middle of February there is a brand new holiday called Family Day.  It's an actual holiday thought up by the government to give us some fun during a long cold winter.  February may be the shortest month, but when it's snowy and cold it feels like the longest month ever.  There are no greeting cards or gifts just the gift of one less Monday and some extra time spent with your family.  So to celebrate this family day, Neal and I went to the auto show.  We weren't in the market to actually buy as new car, but thought it would be fun to just go.  Neal had never been.  I use to go with my Dad when I was a little kid.

They have all of the auto makers under one roof.  They even had some race cars, electric cars and some concept cars that you might be driving in the future.
It seems to me that the majority of cars we saw were larger instead of smaller.  With the ever increasing price of gas you would think that a smaller more cost efficient vehicle would make more sense than an SUV, but then who am I to judge.

This car to the right is one of my favourite concept cars.  I love the gull wing doors that look very much like the Delorian from the movie Back To The Future.  Marty McFly should only be so lucky to have this cool car.

Oh The Weather Outside Is Frightful.....

How does the old song go....Oh the weather outside is frightful.....at least it was frightful last night.  As you can see we got some snow over night.  About 15-20 cm of the white stuff.  The roads and sidewalks were a big mess and many people, including myself stayed home.  I will never understand why businesses would take the lives of their employees and customers for granted.  If the police and the city are telling us to stay home, you should listen to them and stay off the roads.
Hey I know this is Canada and we should expect snow in the winter, but it just never gets any easier.  Yes it does look pretty on the trees but I long for spring and summer.  By the way, today is Groundhog day.  So one groundhog said spring will come soon and another said more winter.  Groundhogs are NOT weather forecasters!!!!  But I really do hope that spring comes early this year.  I'm tired of being cold every day and shoveling gets old fast!  Stay warm my friends.
