Shuffling Off To Buffalo
On the weekend I got invited to shuffle off to Buffalo, New York for a ladies only shopping excursion. 41 woman on a bus hitting the malls. What more could any girl ever want? A friend at work was organizing this trip and invited me along and asked me to bring someone along with me, so I asked my Mother-in-law. The bus picked us all up after work and we drove to Buffalo. The hotel we stayed at use to be called the Micro-tel but the name was recently changed to Gateway Motel. It's very basic (think university dorm room) but it's very comfortable and clean. It's a family owned and run establishment. When we got there late at night they had a nice wine and cheese party waiting for us. After being on the road for a few hours it was such a nice welcome.
The next morning they provided us a nice breakfast and we were off to shop. We went to a store called Khol's. It had mostly clothing but also some toys and bedding. Then onto a store called Steinmart. I didn't care for this one but it also had clothing, purses and housewares as well as some bedding. Then it was off to The Walden Galleria Mall. That place was huge! If you are planning to eat at the Cheesecake Factory either go early at lunch time or make a reservation at the dinner hour as they seemed to be busy the entire day. Then we went in and out of the many stores there. Macey's had a lot of great sales and if you look online, you can get further discounts. Why wait for Black Friday the sales were all on the week before. One thing I can say is wear really comfortable shoes. There is a lot of walking. The food court at the mall is lacking.
The next day they took us to some more outlet malls but they were far too high end for us. I'm not really interested in expensive name brand stuff. Afterwards they took us to Wal-mart and the grocery store called Tops. It was interesting to see how differently they eat from us.
