The Science Centre
Good Morning and welcome to another edition of what did I do on the weekend. On Sunday, we channeled our inner child and went to the Science Centre. Why? It was Telus Family and Friends Day and it was free. For anyone who has been to the Science Centre lately, you'll know what a great value not paying admission was. The adult entrance fee is now up to $22 a person and parking is $10. That would make for one big expense if you take your family for the day. So yesterday all we had to pay was the $10 for parking. They had all kinds of fun events for people to try. You could get your photo taken and you get a prize (stuffed animal, sun glasses or a Telus bag), they had mini golf, bean bag toss, you could meet two mounted police or climb on a fire truck. Inside you could meet some of the athletes from the PanAM Games in the Great Hall. Then there was the usual cool science type things to do. My personal favourite was the Vandergraff. You know the one where you touch the big ball and your hair stand on end. We went outside in the back of the Science Centre and followed a path to a lookout and found this really cool wooded area with water. All the times we've been to the Science Centre I never knew that was there. Ok usually we go in the winter when there's nothing else to do and you wouldn't go outside voluntarily.
We had a really fun day, but I must say, the folks at the Science Centre should really think about fixing many of the broken exhibits and replacing some of the carpets because the place is looking a little worn. Don't get me wrong we had a fun time, but the place needs some TLC. If you are going to charge so much money to get in, everything should be in good working order and the place should look nice. Thank you Telus for a fun afternoon.
