Bees In The Fireplace.

I think had we known what trouble a fireplace could cause we would never have bought a house with one. The first of the plagues were the June bugs, next came the earwigs and then came our newest problem....the bees. We had a chimney sweep (no he didn't look like Dick Van Dyke and sing for us as he cleaned) come and have a look to determin what our problem was. Apparently we have bees hybernating along the walls of the chimney. Every now and again they fly out half dead (lucky for us) and land on the floor. So we can't go downstairs without shoes so as not to get stung. The chimneysweep capped our fireplace and told us that we were relatively lucky as other animals are able to get in and fall down the hole and land in our basement as well. We thought our problems were solved. We got no bees for a few weeks. Then all of the sudden we found a few more bees and called the company again to come back for another look. Apparently the bees are still in the chimney sleeping and the chimneysweep didn't get them all. So we've opened the cap let the bees fly out and let's hope that will be the end of our problems.
