Our New House

Well ladies and gentlemen we have finally sold both of our condos. This was no easy task let me tell you. We had a ton of people come to have a look but very few were serious enough to actually put in an offer. If any of you are in the market for a condo here are a few words of wisdom from someone who's lived in a condo:

1. Your house furniture, while it may look very nice in your house will probably NOT fit in a condo. You must sell most of your large pieces of furniture and buy condo size furniture. A cluttered condo looks and feels very small.

2. Look beyond what we have done to our place. Use your imagination and think about what you can do instead. Make the place your own in your mind.

3. Most condos are small make the most of the space you have.

4. Be careful of real estate agents because not all of them are good. Some will just stand at the door and let the client do whatever they want (yes even go through your stuff) just as long as they "think" they can sell the property. Trust me on this one because it happened to us. I strongly suggest you are there when the property is being shown. Don't buy the argument that the client needs space. Who will answer the client's questions if you aren't there? The agent only knows what's written down on the paper and some of the time if they don't know the answer to a client's question they will make it up.

We are almost ready to move to the new house. Right now we are surrounded by tons of boxes and there is still so much more packing left to do. Moving is a lot of work but in the end it will be well worth it to be in our new home. I'm really happy that we're finally going to have a nice garden and some extra space.
