The Surprise Lighthouse

On Sunday Neal and I were out shopping for paper that we could use for our wedding programs. We couldn't find suitable paper anywhere so we thought that maybe we should try Wal-Mart. Neal was sceptical as he HATES Wal-Mart, but we decided to give it a try anyway. There wasn't any nice paper there at all. Then we looked around for flowers to give someone for a gift and while we were in the gardening department looking around, Neal caught sight of what looked like a lighthouse. He ran to the corner where he discovered right there in the back of plastic bins two solar powered lighthouses. The lighthouse is about 3 1/2 feet high with a revolving light. It was perfect for what we needed it for and later we can use it in our eventual house for Neal's nautical room. So if you can picture this, here I was carrying our treasure to the cash desk and the two of us were pleased as punch laughing like little kids all the way out to the car.

We've Picked Our 1st Dance Song

Tonight Neal and I picked our first dance song. It's a song called Bless The Broken Road by Rascal Flatts. Before Neal and I started to date I wasn't into country music. That was until one day when he left me in the car while he ran into the bank and left me listening to another country music song also by Rascal Flatts called Skin. By the time he got back into the car I was in tears. Skin was the most beautiful yet sad song about a young girl going to her high school prom after cancer treatment and her boyfriend shaves his hair so that she wouldn't be the only bald person at her prom. I thought that if this song was so great that I'd like other Rascal Flatts songs and I did. Bless The Broken Road is a song about the mistakes we make while dating until we find the perfect person to marry. The song really spoke to us because who hasn't made bad choices while dating. Now that we've chosen our song all we have to do is learn how to dance.

Stuffing & Folding Invitations & Other Wedding Related Stuff

Our beautiful invitations have arrived and Neal and I are busy folding and stuffing to get them ready to send out to our family and friends very soon. I can't wait for everyone to see them as they are very different. We came home with boxes and boxes of different components of the invitations and strict instructions how to put them together. We had to number each card, fold the reply cards and stuff them into the envelopes and then put on the return postage. Then we had to stuff each invitation and put the corresponding reply card into the envelope and put the correct postage on that as well. The job is just about done, which is a good thing because my poor fingers have more paper cuts per square inch than one hand should have.

Lots has happened since my last post. I've had the fitting for my wedding dress and it looks fantastic with the short sleeves. It was so hard to picture what it would look like just by hearing the description of woman at the store. All that needs doing now is to shorten the length and fix the inside crinoline and that is done in April.

Also we've had another meeting with our wedding co-ordinator. She made up a schedule for the BIG day. It's all so exciting now!!!! The day is almost here.

Our programs are done and all we have to do is find some pretty paper to print them on. It seems that wedding program paper is in short supply in the Toronto area. If anyone has a suggestion of where we can find some (Staples and Office Place both have the same one and it's not very pretty) please feel free to let us know.

Well, that's all for now. I'll be back with more exciting news shortly.
